Dr. Pantula Rama hails from a culturally abundant family of musicians, poets, scholars and astrologers going back many generations. Her mother Smt. Padmavathi is a Veena Artist. Dr. Rama had her initial training in music under her father Sri. Pantula Gopala Rao and continues to be the prime disciple of ‘Sangeeta Kalasagara’ Sri. Ivaturi Vijayeswara Rao. She enjoys the privilege of having the brilliant musician Sri. M. S. N. Murthy as her soul mate.
Dr. Pantula Rama is highly regarded for her chaste, aesthetic and intellectual style of singing. She is popular for an ever-fresh approach in her concerts.
She has been known as a child prodigy and is multi talented. She is graded ‘A’ in vocal and ‘B-High’ in Violin & Viola by All India Radio. She has participated in many National Programmes of Music of All India Radio.
She holds a PhD in music from Andhra University. Her doctoral thesis has been published by Gyan Publishers of New Delhi under the title ‘Shaping of an ideal Carnatic Musician through Sadhana’.
She has been honoured with the title ‘Gayatri Sangeeta Vidwanmani’ and is popular as ‘Nightingale of Andhra’ and ‘Melody Queen of Andhra’.
She is the recipient of many awards such as - ‘Outstanding Lady Vocalist’ & ‘Best Pallavi Award’ from The Music Academy, Madras.
Dr. Pantula Rama has been a favourite with the press and audio-visual media throughout her career and has received rave reviews and critical acclaim from all sections.
She has many a CD and albums to her credit and has been performing all over India and abroad and has been receiving accolades equally from the elite and the layman. She has also been training worthy disciples.
M.S.N.Murthy (Mutnuri, Srinivasa Narasimha Murthy) hails from a music family extending many generations back. Mother Smt. Mutnuri Jalajakshi is a veteran vocalist. He is a Disciple of ‘Sangeeta Sahitya Kalanidhi’ Sriman N.Ch.Krishnamacharyulu.
M.S.N.Murthy has been known to be a child prodigy and started performing at an early age of ten. He was exempted in age and selected as a casual artiste by All India Radio at 14. He has been winning high degree of appreciation and critical acclaim for his purity of style, flawless execution, fine aesthetic sense and total command over the instrument.
He has been awarded ‘Top Grade’ in Violin, ‘A Grade’ in Vocal & ‘A Grade’ in Viola by All India Radio.
He has participated in many National Programmes of Music, Sangeet Sammelan Concerts and Jugalbandi concerts of All India Radio & Doordarshan.
Acclaimed for his brilliance in accompanying techniques and captivating solo playing, he has been a much sought after violinist all over India and abroad. He has accompanied many stalwart musicians like Smt.M.S.Subbulakshmi, Smt.M.L.Vasanthakumari, Smt.Mani Krishnaswami, Dr.M.Balamuralikrishna, Dr.S.Ramanathan, Sri.Maharajapuram Santhanam, Sri.Nedunuri Krishnamurthy, Sri.T.V.Sankaranarayanan, Madurai Sri.T.N.Seshagopalan, Sri.N.Ramani, Dr.Pantula Rama and many others in countries including India, USA, Canada, Australia, Singapore and Thailand.
Sri.M.S.N.Murthy has many CD’s to his credit of which the CD titled ‘Healing Magic’ has received wide acclaim. He has many talented disciples to his credit.
Tanjore Murugabhoopathi belongs to a family of artists and musicians. He had his initial training under Mridangam Vidwan and Lecturer in the Tamilnadu Government Music College Sri T.R.Srinivasan. After receiving the 'Vadhya Visharada' with distinction from the Music College and after two years of concert experience, he came under the guidance of Late Sri Tanjore Upendran. He learnt from the late maestro in the age old tradition of "Gurukulavasam". This great opportunity of being with his guru for ten years shaped is career as a Mridangist. He can adopt his playing to any style of singing or instrumentals and has won the appreciation of the artists as well as the rasikas.
He has won numerous awards including the "Laya Vidhyadara", "Vadya Kalaimani" from the Music College, Chennai, "Laya Kala Ratna" from the Tiruppur Murugan Mandram, the "Best Artiste Award" from the South Indian Music Club, Andhra Pradesh, The Music Academy, Krishna Gana Sabha and the Sivan Mandram, Sydney, Australia.
He regularly accompanies leading artists such as Sangeetha Kalnidhi Madurai T.N. Seshagopalan, Sangeetha Kalanidhi Dr. N. Ramani, Mandolin Srinivas, Sanjay Subramaniam, Sutha Ragunathan and Aruna Sayeeram to name a few. He has performed with these artists in Singapore, Malaysia, South Africa, Germany, Spain, USA, UK, Switzerland, Australia, Dubai, Muscat, Doha, Belgium and Scotland.
