Shruti Laya takes great pride in announcing the Sri Sadasiva Brahmendral Aradhana, presented in colloboration with the Kanchi Kamakoti Seva Foundation. This is perhaps the first time such an Aradhana has been performed outside India! The program will consist of a group singing of five of the Saint's krithis. As in the recently concluded Thyagaraja Aradhana, all music teachers, advanced students and artists in our area are invited to participate in this group singing. We hope that music teachers will encourage their students to learn atleast some of these krithis, and experience the joy of singing in a group on stage. The songs selected for group singing are (in order) :
Please listen to the "Official Version" we will follow by clicking on the links above. Participants are requested to follow this precisely (tempo, number of sangathis etc.,) so that the group singing is coherent. This will be followed by a grand thematic concert of Sri Sadasiva Brahmendra krithis by Smt. Kiranavali Vidyasankar. Kiranavali needs no special introduction to our rasikas - she comes from a lineage of well-respected Carnatic musicians that includes her legendary grandfather, Gotuvadyam Narayana Iyengar and father Chitravina maestro Narasimhan. Apart from intensive training both under her father and her brother, Chitravina Ravikiran, Kiranavali also had guidance from T Brinda, the torchbearer of one of the most coveted styles in Carnatic music. The program is on Saturday, June 26 at 6:00 PM, and will be entirely FREE (donations welcome). So please mark your calenders and reserve this date. We look forward to enthusiastic participation from our Rasika community. |
